Islami është feja e dytë më e madhe pas krishterimit.Sipas një studimi të 2010, Islami ka 1.62 miliard pasues, që përbëjnë mbi 23% e popullsisë së botës.Islami është feja dominuese në Lindjen e Mesme, në Horn të Afrikës, në Afrikën veriore, dhe në disa pjesë të Azisë.Edhe në gadishullin ballkani ka shtete me popullsi shumicë muslimane që janë:Shqiperia,Kosova dhe Bosnja.
