Disiplina shkencore

Disiplina akademike ose fusha akademike është një degë e njohurive. Ajo përfshin ekspertizën, njerëzit, projektet, komunitetet, sfidat, studimet, hetimet dhe fushat kërkimore të cilat janë të lidhura fort me një fushë të caktuar lëndësh shkollore ose departamente të kolegjit. Për shembull, degët e shkencës zakonisht quhen disiplina shkencore, p.sh. fizika, matematika dhe biologjia.

Individët e lidhur me disiplinat akademike zakonisht quhen ekspertë ose specialistë. Të tjerë, të cilët mund të kenë studiuar artet liberale apo teorinë e sistemeve në vend që të përqendrohen në një disiplinë të veçantë akademike, klasifikohen si të përgjithshëm.

Ndërsa disiplinat akademike në vetvete janë praktika pak a shumë të përqendruara, qasjet akademike si multidisiplinariteti, interdisiplinariteti, transdisiplinariteti dhe ndërdisiplinariteti integrojnë aspekte nga disiplina të shumta akademike, duke adresuar kështu çdo problem që mund të vijë nga përqendrimi i ngushtë brenda fushave të specializuara të studimit. Për shembull, profesionistët mund të hasin telashe të komunikojnë mes disiplinave akademike për shkak të dallimeve në gjuhë ose në koncepte të specifikuara.

Disa studiues besojnë se disiplinat akademike mund të zëvendësohet nga ajo që është e njohur si modaliteti 2[1] ose "shkenca post-akademike",[2] e cila përfshin marrjen e njohurive ndërdisiplinore nëpërmjet bashkëpunimit të specialistëve nga disiplina të ndryshme akademike.

Universiteti i Parisit në vitin 1231 përbëhej nga katër fakultete: Teologji, Mjekësi, Drejtësi Kanonike dhe Arteve.[3]

Institucionet arsimore fillimisht përdorën termin "disiplinë" për të sistematizuar dhe arkivuar informacionin e ri dhe të zgjeruar të informacionit të prodhuar nga komuniteti akademik. Emërtimet disiplinore kanë origjinën në universitetet gjermane gjatë fillimit të shekullit të nëntëmbëdhjetë.

Shumica e disiplinave akademike kanë rrënjët e tyre në sekularizimin e universiteteve në mes të shekullit të nëntëmbëdhjetë, kur kurrikulat tradicionale u plotësuan me gjuhë dhe literaturë jo-klasike, shkenca shoqërore si shkencat politike, ekonomia, sociologjia dhe administrata publike dhe natyrore shkenca dhe disiplinat e teknologjisë si fizika, kimia, biologjia dhe inxhinieri.

Në fillim të shekullit të njëzetë, u shtuan disiplina të reja akademike, si arsimi dhe psikologjia. Në vitet 1970 dhe 1980, pati një shpërthim të disiplinave të reja akademike që përqendroheshin në tema specifike, siç janë studimet e medias, studimet e grave dhe studimet Africana. Shumë disiplina akademike të hartuara si përgatitje për karriera dhe profesione, si infermieria, menaxhimi i mikpritjes dhe korrigjimet, u shfaqën gjithashtu në universitete. Së fundmi, fusha shkencore ndërdisiplinore të studimeve të tilla si biokimia dhe gjeofizika u vlerësuan pasi kontributi i tyre në njohuri u pranua gjerësisht.

Siç afrohej shekulli i njëzetë, këto përcaktime u adoptuan gradualisht nga vende të tjera dhe u bënë subjektet konvencionale të pranuara. Megjithatë, këto përkufizime ndryshonin midis vendeve të ndryshme.[4] Në shekullin e njëzetë, disiplinat e shkencave natyrore përfshinin: fizikën, kiminë, biologjinë, gjeologjinë dhe astronominë. Disiplina e shkencave shoqërore përfshinte: ekonominë, politikën, sociologjinë dhe psikologjinë.

Para shekullit të njëzetë, kategoritë ishin të gjera dhe të përgjithshme, që pritej për shkak të mungesës së interesit në shkencë në atë kohë. Me përjashtime të rralla, praktikuesit e shkencës prireshin të ishin amatorë dhe referoheshin si "historianë të natyrshëm" dhe "filozofë të natyrshëm" - emërtime që datojnë nga Aristoteli - në vend të "shkencëtarëve".[5] Historia natyrore i referohet asaj që tani i quajmë shkencat e jetës dhe filozofia natyrore që i referohen shkencës fizike aktuale.

Pak mundësi ka ekzistuar për shkencën si një profesion jashtë sistemit arsimor. Arsimi i lartë ka ofruar strukturën institucionale për hetimin shkencor, si dhe mbështetjen ekonomike. Shpejt, vëllimi i informacionit shkencor u rrit shpejt dhe njerëzit e kuptuan rëndësinë e përqendrimit në fushat më të vogla të veprimtarisë shkencore. Për shkak të kësaj, u shfaqën specializime shkencore. Ndërsa këto specializime u zhvilluan, disiplinat moderne shkencore në universitete u përmirësuan gjithashtu. Përfundimisht, disiplinat e identifikuara të akademisë u bënë themelet për njerëzit me interesa dhe ekspertizë specifike të specializuara.[6]
