Object history

Deutsch: Die Inschrift FIDELITAS erinnert zusammen mit den Farben an den zur Stadtgründung gestifteten Hausorden der Treue. Aber erst im Jahr 1895 sorgte die städtische Archivkommission dafür, dass die Farben des Karlsruher Wappens dem markgräflichen Entwurf entsprachen. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt waren die Buchstaben silbern, das Schild golden und der Schrägbalken rot.
