Narona /neˈroʊne/ ishte emri i lashtë i qytetit i cili shtrihej në luginën e lumit Neretva në Kroacinë e sotme. Më vonë Narona ishte pjesë e Provincës Romake, Dalmacia. Qyteti është themeluar pas Pas Luftërave Iliro-Romake [1] dhe ishte gjendej në fushat aluviale, në mes të qytetit të sotëm Metkoviqi dhe fshatit Vid. Për herë të parë përmendet në kapitullin 24 në Periplusin e Pseudo-Scylaxit.[2] Në shek. 6 ra nën sundimin Bizantin. Pas ardhjes së fiseve Sllave , pushoi së ekzistuari si vendbanim.
