Bibliotheca ( Greqishtja e Lashtë : Βιβλιοθήκη), e njohur edhe si Bibliotheca e Pseudo-Apollodorit, është një përmbledhje e miteve dhe legjendave heroike greke, e rregulluar në tre libra, të datuar përgjithësisht në shekullin e parë ose të dytë pas Krishtit. [1] Autori tradicionalisht mendohej të ishte Apollodori i Athinës, por ky atribut tani konsiderohet si i rremë, dhe kështu " Pseudo- " iu shtua emrit të pretenduar të Apollodorit.

Bibliotheca është quajtur "vepra më e vlefshme mitografike që ka ardhur nga kohët e lashta". [2] :296, 300 [3] Tregimet e shkurtra dhe të zbukuruara të miteve në Bibliotheca kanë bërë që disa komentues të sugjerojnë se edhe pjesët e tij të plota janë një mishërim i një vepre të humbur. [4]

Një "Apollodor" i pretenduar paraqitet si autor në disa dorëshkrime të mbijetuara. [5] Ky Apollodor i pretenduar është identifikuar gabimisht me Apollodorin e Athinës (lindur rreth vitit 180 para Krishtit), një student i Aristarkut të Samotrakës, kryesisht siç dihet - nga referencat në skolitë e vogla mbi Homerin - që Apollodori i Athinës la një repertor të ngjashëm gjithëpërfshirës mbi mitologjinë, në formën e një kronike. Teksti që mbijetoi deri më sot, megjithatë, citon një autor romak: Castor Annalist, një bashkëkohës i Ciceronit në shekullin I para Krishtit. Një nga burimet e tij të shumta ishte Tragodoumena (Subjektet e Tragjedive ) një analizë e shekullit IV para Krishtit mbi mitet në tragjeditë greke nga Asclepiades of Tragilus, [7] përmbledhja e parë mitografike greke e njohur. [8]

Përmendja e parë e veprës është nga Photiusi në shekullin IX. Ajo pothuajse humbi në shekullin XIII, duke mbijetuar në një dorëshkrim tashmë të paplotë, i cili u kopjua për Kardinalin Besarion në shekullin XV; dorëshkrimet e tjera të mbijetuara rrjedhin nga kopja e Besarionit.
