Përmirësime te faqet me rëndësi

Faqja e Administratës është përmirësuar nga ana funksionale e vizuale. Pjesët për zgjedhjet e administratorëve, burokratëve apo dorëheqjet e tyre janë tashmë të organizuara në nënfaqe të veçanta të shoqëruara me shpjegimet përkatëse për procedurat që duhen ndjekur për secilën. Vetë faqja kryesore është më informative duke treguar automatikisht çdo kandidaturë aktive ose duke shfaqur një mesazh informues në rastin kur nuk ekzistojnë kandidatura aktive. Te Forumi i Grisjes, Ofiçina, Zyra e Ankesave apo faqet për artikujt e mirë e të përkryer kërkesat gjithashtu do të mbajnë një datë minimale përfundimi të shtuar automatikisht, ngjashëm me kandidaturat për administratorë. Së fundmi, dritaret informuese te Kuvendi janë përmirësuar gjithashtu dhe tani shfaqin mesazhin "Gjithçka në rregull!" në dritaret ku nuk ka çështje për të zgjidhur (përkundrejt dritareve që bëhen të kuqe kur në to kërkohet vëmendje).

Si gjithmonë, hidhini një sy e nëse vini re ndonjë gjë që s'shkon apo keni sugjerime për ndryshime ndokund, më thoni.

Pastrimi i skedave jo të lira

Dua të ringjall diskutimet nga viti 2023, dhe së fundmi java e kaluar, meqë Wikipedia Shqipe ka një problem masiv me figurat e ngarkuar në mënyrë lokale tek projekti.

Shkurt e shqip: Wikipedia Shqipe më përpara lejonte ngarkimin e fotove që të strehoheshin nën projektin tonë brenda adresës sq.wikipedia.org — jo vetëm në Wikimedia Commons. Kjo erdhi me kushtin që fotot të jenë të arsyetuara për përdorim të ndershëm (ose fair use, siç njihet më mirë nga anglishtja) — dmth. artikulli përfiton prej përfshirjes së fotos dhe nuk mund të zëvëndësohet me ndonjë material të lirë. Shumë pamje historike hyjnë në këtë kategori. Fatkeqësisht, mungesa e diligjencës së përdorues(e)ve në të kaluarën na la me më se 1000 skeda pa leje në Wikipedia Shqip. Pa autor, pa leje, pa arsyetim pse nuk mund të përdoret diçka tjetër. Shumica e Wikipedive tjera kërkojnë që fotografitë të jenë sa më të vogla që munden po pa humbur detaj. Fotot që janë ngarkuar në sq.wikipedia.org janë shpeshherë të cilësive të ndryshme por nuk përfillin këtë rregull.

Si pasojë e këtij problemi, u ndalua ngarkimi i fotove në sq.wikipedia.org derisa të zgjidhet ky problem dhe u lejua vetëm ngarkimi në Wikimedia Commons ku vetëm materialet e lira për përdorim mund të postohen. Fatkeqësisht ky problem u përsërit edhe atje, me fotografi që tejkalojnë rregullat, nuk citojnë autor, ose konstatojnë autorësi fallco. Apet jemi në pozitën zero.

Në 2023 prej jashtë u kërkua një përpjekje e koncentruar nga përdoruesit/et e Wikipedisë Shqip që këtyre foto pa leje t'iu gjindet autori dhe të konstatohet a meritojnë të jenë në wiki, dhe të fshihen ato që s'plotësojnë kriteret. Që atëherë nuk ka fort ndryshim, dhe dokumentacioni + rregullat bëhen akoma më të vjetra e jo të plota. Nuk ndihmon fakti që nuk mjaftojnë përdoruesit.

Javën e kaluar u kërkua edhe një diskutim për këtë problem me një zgjidhje përmes një boti nga @MGA73. Kryeadministratori nuk është aktiv për t'a vënë në funksion, dhe një numër dërrmues adminësh nuk janë aktiv që shumë kohë. U sygjerua një opsion nuklear: të fshihen të gjitha skedat pa licensë. Të gjitha skedat pa licensë janë të kategorizuara brenda Kategoria:Non Licensed Images falë MGA73-shit. U propozua një afat prej 30 ditësh që të kontrollohen fotot me licensë të paqartë dhe t'iu vihet licensa si duhet, përndryshe fshihen të gjithat.

Kërkoj vëmendjen e të gjithë administratorëve për këtë çështje meqë ka pritur tash e pesë vjet dhe ka nevojë për të vepruar disi. Duhet rishqyrtuar diskutimi dhe duhet lejuar eventualisht ngarkimi i fotografive lokale në sq.wikipedia.org që mos t'i mundojmë administratorët e Commons-it me problemin tonë, dhe më me rëndësi, të lejojmë që Wikipedia Shqip të pasurohet si duhet dhe siç i ka hije.

@Fallbackintoreality, faleminderit për qasjen tënde ndaj këtij problemi! Nëse e ke lexuar në diskutimet e vjetra, synimi im ka qenë një plan me 3 faza:

1. Zbrazja graduale e ngarkimeve lokale (ritmi gradual është thelbësor këtu për të mos humbur informacion të dobishëm e për të mos shkaktuar ndryshim të ndjeshëm te artikujt që i përdorin këto materiale);
2. Krijimi i një rregulloreje për ngarkimet lokale sipas ligjeve në fuqi për të drejtat e autorit (dhe mundësisht e 1-2 përdoruesve të aftë për të gjykuar në lidhje me këtë rregullore, këtu mbase mund të jesh ti një zgjedhje e mirë);
3. Rihapja e ngarkimit lokal (nga ky proces do të përfitonin shumë artikujt në lidhje me filmat e librat, kopertinat e afishet e të cilave nuk gjenden në Commons).

Unë vazhdimisht përpiqem të fshij materiale multimediale lokale për ta ulur atë numër duke u përpjekur të bëj sa më pak dëm por nevojitet më shumë punë. Përdoruesi në fjalë është hera e disatë që na kontakton me të drejtë, siç e ke parë nga diskutimet. Nëse mendon se mund të angazhohesh në mënyrë më organike me çështjen në fjalë, mund të konsiderojmë dhënien e privilegjeve shtesë të nevojshme për punën në të ardhmen e afërme (për fshirjen do të nevojiteshin të drejta administrative dhe duke qenë se kemi pasur dy kandidatura të sukseshme së afërmi në atë drejtim, çmoj se idealisht do të ishte e udhës të kishim një periudhë 6 mujore pritjeje derisa të vazhdonim me kandidaturën e radhës). - Klein Muçi (diskutimet) 29 qershor 2025 12:59 (CEST)

Përshëndetje! E kuptoj plotësisht dëshirën për të minimizuar dëmet, por nuk lejohet të mbahen skedarë pa licencë. Duke i mbajtur ato, shkelet politika zyrtare. Sipas mendimit tim, kjo vetëm sa e zgjat dhimbjen sepse në fund skedarët do të duhet të fshihen nëse nuk mund t'u shtohet një licencë e vlefshme.

Kur një imazh është i pranishëm në një artikull, ka shumë pak gjasa që dikush ta zëvendësojë me një imazh të lirë, sepse shumica nuk do ta vërejnë se ka një problem me imazhin. Nëse imazhi fshihet, mungesa bëhet e dukshme dhe rritet mundësia që dikush të shtojë një imazh me licencë të lirë.

Nëse qëllimi është të hapet sërish mundësia për ngarkimin e skedarëve, atëherë kjo do të jetë më e realizueshme nëse merret vendimi për të fshirë të gjithë skedarët pa licencë ose pa informacion për autorin e fotos etj. --MGA73 (diskutimet) 7 korrik 2025 17:42 (CEST)

@MGA73, unfortunately, as you can see yourself it's hard to generate activity, especially on this matter. But as I've already mentioned we're already working on it for quite a long time now, albeit in a very slow manner (if you keep track of the media numbers you'll see them change continuously).

@Fallbackintoreality, would you be interested in dealing with this project? Either in the detailed manner I explained above or in a general sense, just tagging and removing media from articles. I have made Përdoruesi:MGA73/FileDelinker.js so it is easy to delink files. For example: Special:Diff/2815326. If fair use is possible then that could be an alernative. But not for living people and for buildings etc that still exist. If you take a quick look at Kategoria:Non Licensed Images how many should be deleted and how many changed to fair use? --MGA73 (diskutimet) 10 korrik 2025 18:00 (CEST)

I've historically been pretty good at finding the sources to files, however it'd be pretty tedious and not worth it. It's easier to look through and find the files that one can make a fair use rationale for and then find the source to that, and then delete the others. Hi, @MGA73, only 74 files are already listed, Since Klein deleted some the number should be lower by now. Keep adding deletion stamps, when the number is more considerable i will start deleting them by criteria. P.s. im not alot familiar with the proces i will adapt in time and show results. We must carefully choose what to delete, so we don't do damage by mass deletions. I don't see a reason to rush about this issue, we will complete the process we just need some more time!. @Leutrim.P Thank you for your qnswer. I brought up the topic in October 2022 at Wikipedia:Kuvendi/Arkivi_23#Cleaning_up_files so I would not say files are deleted too fast :-) In fact on many wikis files are deleted after 1-2 weeks when they lack copyright information. But I do not mind that things take a little longer because it would be nice if it is possible to save some of the files.

If I use Përdoruesi:MGA73/FileDelinker.js to add the deletion stamp then the file will be removed from pages where it is moved. So I think the best way is to look at the files in Kategoria:Non Licensed Images and pick out the files that could be saved. Hello! I just deleted another ~50 photos. Around 1000 remain; Progress feels slow but I'd say it is there, since we started this process with around 5000. Sorry for the short answers. @MGA73, yes, that would be ideal but unfortunately, as you may have noticed already, not a really realistic scenario. I have a question: in Kategoria:Non Licensed Images there are many images which are just diagrams. Examples:

Image 1 seems to already be in Commons, so we can get rid of that and replace it accordingly. The remaining images are either belonging to someone else and have been acquired via a textbook, or are original from what I can tell. The more simple diagrams can be marked with Stampa:PD-ineligible but the more complex diagrams may be copyrightable. So it think it is a case by case judgement. @MGA73, just to be clear, when I talked about PD-marked files above I meant all kinds of files uploaded locally on public domain for different reasons. I say this because I noticed that there are different files related to different PD templates like the files linked in {{PD}} or the ones linked in {{PD-self}}, etc. This is in no way an urge to hurry, I've said myself many times above that the whole process needs to be taken slowly (as we're doing) but I'm just trying to clarify since I may lack the terminology in the matter to express myself correctly. - Klein Muçi (diskutimet) 11 shtator 2025 14:16 (CEST)

Cleaned up those categories again. There are still ~5 graphics/maps on Speciale:SkedaTëPapërdorura. Can you check to make sure they do not have the standards to reach PD status? At least the graphic looks like it should be treated the same as many other similar graphics that were exported on Commons. Hi Klein Muçi! I just checked Speciale:SkedaTëPapërdorura and Kategoria:Faqe për grisje and I do not think there are any graphs left that should be moved to Commons. I have moved some files from Kategoria:Non Licensed Images but I think the rest may be too complex to be PD-ineligible. But its likely they are from English Wikipedia for example. Hello, @MGA73! Not even the different technical schemes? For example, you've currently exported to Commons Skeda:TDC.png. Shouldn't Skeda:TAC.png follow it? It's the same concept for different types of current (DC vs AC). What about diagrams such as Skeda:Sectional-view-for-a-dc-four-pole-machine.png, Skeda:Fig 4. Bllok diagrami i transmetuesit dhe pranuesit FH-CDMA.jpg or Skeda:Fig.1 Efekti i zgjerimit të spektrit -1-.jpg? Hello everyone! I am glad to inform you that as the next step in the Parser Unification project, Parsoid will soon be turned on as the default article renderer on your wiki. We are gradually increasing the number of wikis using Parsoid, with the intention of making it the default wikitext parser for MediaWiki's next long-term support release. This will make our wikis more reliable and consistent for editors, readers, and tools to use, as well as making the development of future wikitext features easier.

If this disrupts your workflow, don’t worry! You can still opt out through a user preference or turn Parsoid off on the current page using the Tools submenu, as described in the Extension:ParserMigration documentation.

There is more information about our roll-out strategy available, including the testing done before we turn on Parsoid for a new wiki.

Help us decide the name of the new Abstract Wikipedia project

Hello. Please help pick a name for the new Abstract Wikipedia wiki project. This project will be a wiki that will enable users to combine functions from Wikifunctions and data from Wikidata in order to generate natural language sentences in any supported languages. These sentences can then be used by any Wikipedia (or elsewhere).

There will be two rounds of voting, each followed by legal review of candidates, with votes beginning on 20 October and 17 November 2025. Për momentin po përpiloj një manual të stilit për të standardizuar shkrimin këtu (nëse po e lexoni këtu, kisha kërku këshilla prej publikut të gjerë!) dhe transliterimi/romanizimi i shkronjave cirilike është njëri prej shumë rasteve që do t'a kishte zgjidhur ekzistenca e këtij dokumenti. Prapavija ime është në gjuhësi prandaj i njoh këto probleme shumë mirë ama nuk kam mundur të gjej dokumentim apo ndonjë referencë për këtë dukuri (aq më pak në shqip), sipas të cilës mund t'a konformojmë Wikipedinë. Te falenderoj per nderhyrjen @Fallbackintoreality. Pavaresisht se ndaj gjuhesise e quaj veten profan, sidoqofte kjo nuk me le qe te mos bubrroj. New releases

English Wikipedia gets "Add a Link" Structured Task

We released the "Add a Link" Structured Task to 100% of accounts at English Wikipedia on Tuesday, September 2nd (before then it was available to 20% of accounts).

Growth features for Wikidata

After examining if the Growth features and Mentorship could be adapted to Wikidata, we activated the Growth features on Beta Wikidata to allow for testing and discussion (T400937). Although some features, like Suggested Edits, are Wikipedia-specific, the Growth team designed most features to be more wiki-agnostic.

Work in progress

Revise Tone Structured Task

The Growth team is making progress on the technical architecture, onboarding design, and early user testing. We are targeting an A/B test before the end of this year, with constructive edits by newcomers as the primary success metric.

Add a link to more wikis

The machine learning team has been working on a new model that can suggest links to more languages, including Urdu, Chinese, and Japanese Wikipedias. We are starting to release the “Add a Link” feature to Wikipedias that weren’t supported by the previous model.

Add a link, which can be configured by the community locally, increases the chance that a new contributor will make their first edit and then continue to participate in Wikipedia.

Research

The Growth team is involved in several research initiatives to help guide our future work:

Progression System – We have published initial findings from interviews with 10 English and French Wikipedia newcomers. The research examined motivations, challenges, and feedback on a prototype system intended to help editors build confidence, develop skills, and contribute more constructively over time.

Mobile Web Editing Research – This project combines quantitative and qualitative data, community feedback, and user journey analysis to identify possible ways to enhance the mobile editing experience.

Newcomers Survey – This project surveys successful newcomers on English Wikipedia to understand their early editing experiences, tool use, and community interactions.

Community events

The Growth team participated in several community events to listen, share, and collaborate on improving newcomer experiences across Wikimedia projects.

Wikimania - Organizers as key partners to support newcomers' growth in our movement

This session invited organizers to share how they introduce newcomers to Growth features and the challenges they encounter. The discussion focused on common newcomer questions and opportunities to strengthen collaboration in supporting new editors.

Wikimania - Lightning Talk: Structured Tasks

This talk demonstrated how Structured Tasks help newcomers take their first successful steps on Wikipedia. It shared impact data, community configurations, and a demo of “Add a Link,” illustrating how these tasks make editing more accessible and sustainable, particularly for mobile contributors.

Wikimania - Building a Sustainable Future for Wikimedia Contributors

With active editor numbers declining, the Contributors Strategy aims to create a clearer, more engaging path for participation. This session, led by the WMF Contributors group with involvement from the Editing, Growth, Moderator Tools, and Connection (formerly Campaigns) teams, highlighted efforts to streamline contributor experiences, offer structured and mobile-friendly workflows, and foster meaningful engagement. Participants learned about ongoing initiatives and shared feedback to help shape a more inclusive and sustainable future for Wikimedia contributors.

CEE Meeting - Retaining beginners and improving content moderation: an inclusive and sustainable future for Wikipedia contributors

Many communities face a decline in volunteer engagement. Newcomers often leave soon after joining, while experienced editors struggle to manage increasingly complex workflows and overwhelming backlogs. We presented the Contributors Strategy and the different features and workflows that can help communities to address these challenges. We listened to the specific needs of the CEE communities to help guide the Contributors teams' work.

The regional CEE Hub is looking for a Program Specialist to join our staff team!

Are you someone experienced with Wikimedia who wants to help volunteers? Do you participate in Wiki Loves… and other related projects, and do you have ideas and skills to help others improve their efforts? Do you enjoy working with people from different countries? Are you able to work on your own, feel comfortable on Meta-Wiki, and understand how Meta works? If this sounds like you and you're interested in working with the CEE hub team, we’d love to hear from you!

As a Program Specialist, you will:

• Support affiliates and communities in developing and implementing impactful programs,
• Strengthen regional cooperation and cross-border projects,
• Help guide campaigns and initiatives across the CEE region,
• Work closely with the CEE Hub team and community members.

This is a part-time (0.8–0.9 full-time equivalent), remote position open to candidates based in the CEE region or nearby time zones.

Help us test Cat-a-lot on your Wikipedia

Cat-a-lot is a JavaScript gadget that helps with moving, removing and adding files (as well as articles or subcategories) between, from and to categories and it is widely used on Wikimedia Commons, where it is accessible for every user after enabling the gadget in your Preferences.

Complete explanation of the tool, along with the images and demonstration video it is accessible on Wikimedia Commons.

If your Wikipedia is struggling with performing this repetitive task when you need to move pages between categories and remove pages from a category, Cat-a-lot could be activated for your Wikipedia as well.

Installation can be done as your user script or as a project gadget and codes can be found here. Installation is already done on Polish and Romanian wikis from our CEE Region.

English phrases from MediaWiki:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js/translating can be translated and saved in MediaWiki:Gadget-Cat-a-lot.js/ro (for example).

Pak kohë më parë arritëm të përmbyllnim listën e ndryshimeve në pritje, falë angazhimit të disa përdoruesve aktivë. Megjithatë, lista ka filluar sërish të rritet me ritëm të shpejtë dhe tashmë po i afrohet 300 ndryshimeve. Sikur ata që janë kundër të ofronin një zgjidhje alternative, në mënyrë që numri i redaktimeve në pritje të mbahet nën kontroll (të rrijë i ulët) do t'ua dija për nderë. Për informimin tuaj, ka pasur rreth 6000 redaktime në pritje që po t'i linim ashtu ai përdoruesi nga 2018 që ka redaktuar nuk do kthehej më kurrë të redaktojë përsëri.
