Srpski (latinica): Platonova tela-Euklidova konstrukcija upisivanja u istu sferu
Platon opisuje pravilne poliedre u "Timaju" dodeljujući im simboličko značenje : tetraedar-vatra, kocka-zemlja, oktaedar-vazduh, ikosaedar-voda, a dodekaedar-univerzum, u pokušaju da dokaže da je osnovna ćelija univerzuma jednakostranični trougao i pravilni tetraedar. Nije do kraja uspeo u tome, ali zato je Euklid, njegov sledbenik, jeste. Geometrijskom konstrukcijom prvo dodekaedra nad kockom, a potom upisivanjem svih pet pravilnih poliedara u istu sferu ispoštovao je Platonovu ideju. Platon descrie poliedrele regulate în lucrarea sa "Timai" acordându-le le o semnificaţie simbolică: tetraedrul-foc, cubul-pământ, octaedrul-aer, icosaedrul-apa iar dodecaedrul-univers, în încercarea de a demonstra că celula de bază a universului este triunghiul echilateral şi tetraedrul regulat. Nu a reuşit cu totul însă de aceea, Euclid, urmaşul său, prin construcţia geometrică, mai întâi a dodecaedrului în jurul cubului şi pe urmă prin înscrierea tuturor cinci poliedre regulate în aceeaşi sferă, a susţinut ideea lui Platon. Plato describes the regular polyhedra in the "Timaeus" giving them symbolic meaning:-tetrahedron-fire, cube-ground, octahedron-air, icosahedron-water, and the dodecahedron-universe, in an attempt to prove that the basic cell of the universe are equilateral triangle and regular tetrahedron. He didn't succeeded completely, but his follower Euclid did. By the geometrical construction of dodecahedron over the cube, then by inscription of all five regular polyhedra in the same sphere, he sustained Plato's idea.
