Al Pacino është një aktor dhe regjisor nga Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës, biri i Salvatore dhe Rose Pacino, me origjinë italiane nga Korleone e Siçilisë. Kalon një femijëri të varfër, në shkollë është i dalluar si përsëritës, me përjashtim të literaturës angleze. Nga fundi i viteve 60-të studion teatër me Lee Strasberg i cili dallon në të prirje të jashtëzakonshme për recitim dhe dëshirë të flaktë për tu larguar nga jeta e varfër e fëmijërisë. Me filmin Me Natalie shënon fillimin e karrierës së tij, ndjek pas dy vitesh The Panic in Needle Park në të cilin merret parasysh edhe nga regjisori Francis Ford Coppola. Ky i fundit shënon thelbin e famës së tij në vitin 1972 me filmin The Godfather në të cilin interpreton rolin e Michael Corleone.

Në vitin 1993 shpërblehet me Oscar si aktori më i mirë protagonist me filmin Scent of a Woman, në të cilin interpreton një kolonel të verbër.
