Apollo 13 ishte misioni i shtatë në programin e hapësirës Apollo dhe i treti me qëllim të ulej në Hënë. Anija u lëshua ë 11 prill, 1970, më 13:13 CST nga Qendra Hapësinore Kennedy, por ulja në hënë u ndërpre pasi një rezervuar oksigjeni shpërtheu dy ditë më vonë, duke dëmtuar Modulin e Shërbimit (SM) në të cilin varej Moduli i Komandës (CM). Përkundër vështirësive të mëdha të shkaktuara nga energjia e kufizaur, humbja e kabinës së nxehtësisë, mungesa e ujit të pijshëm, mungesa kritike për sistemin e heqjes së dioksidit të karbonit, ekuipazhi u kthyes shëndosh në tokë më 17 prill.
Fluturimi ishte nën udhëheqjen e James A. Lovell me John L. "Jack" Swigert si Pilot i Modulit të komandës dhe Fred W. Haise si Pilot i Modulit Lunar.
