Ahmet Kurt Pasha ka qene themeluesi dhe zunduesi i pare i Pashalik of Berat. Ai rridhte nga shtepia e Muzakaj, which had founded in the medieval ages the Muzakaj Principality of Berat.

Krijimi i Pashallekut

Ahmet Kurt Pasha beri te mundur ne fsehtesi me Porten e Madhe kunder Mehmed Pasha Bushati ne 1774, duke krijuar Pashallekun e Beratit. Per sherbimin e tij, Sulltani i dha territore ne Shqiperine e mesme. ai mw vonw e zgjeroi territoret qe zoteronte derisa vdiq nw 1787, duke perfshire territore nga e gjithe Shqiperia e mesme, duke mbetur ne kufi me Pashalik of Scutari ne veri dhe ne jug me Pashallekun e Janines.

Ahmet Kurt Pasha ka qene gjyshi i Ali Pasha, duke qene i ati i mamase se Aliut, Hanka.^{[nevojitet citimi]}
