Deirdre McCloskey

Deirdre N. McCloskey (lindur Donald McCloskey, në 11 shtator 1942 në Ann Arbor, Michigan) është një profesore amerikane që është Profesor i Dalluar (Distinguished Professor) i Ekonomisë, Historisë, Anglishtes, dhe Komunikimit në Universitetin e Illinois në Chicago (UIC). Gjithashtu, ajo ka qenë për pesë vite profesore e ftuar tek Erasmus University, Rotterdam. Që prej shtatorit të vitit 2007 ajo ka marrë gjashtë doktorate honorare. 

Në vitin 2013 ajo mori Çmimin Memorial Julian L. Simon nga Competitive Enterprise Institute për punën e saj që egzaminon aktorët në histori që çuan në avancime të arritjes njerëzore dhe në prosperitet. Interesat e saj kërkimore kyesore përfshijnë origjinën e botës moderne, keqpëdorimin e domethënies statistikore në ekonomi dhe në shkenca të tjera, si dhe studimi i kapitalizmit, ndër të tjera.
