Teologjia natyrore e njohur edhe si teologjia racionale është një lloj teologjie që siguron argumente për ekzistencën e Zotit bazuar në arsyen dhe përvojën e zakonshme të natyrës. Më tutje, teologjia natyrore supozon se mund ta ketë si pikënisje një pozicion parazgjedhor i një feje të caktuar duke argumentuar të vërtetën e të paktën disa propozimeve fetare (tashmë të pranuara).

Përmbledhje

Teologjia racionale / natyrore duhet të dallohet nga teologjia tradicionale e cila bazohet në shkrimet e shenjta dhe / ose përvojat fetare, e gjithashtu edhe nga teologjia transcendentale, e cila bazohet në një arsyetim a priori. Kështu, p.sh. teologjia natyrore është një lloj filozofie e cila ka për qëllim shpjegimin e natyrës së perëndive ose të një Zoti suprem. Për fetë monoteiste, kjo kryesisht përfshin argumente në lidhje me atributet ose joatributet e Zotit, dhe veçanërisht Çështja e ekzistencës së Perëndisë, duke përdorur argumente që nuk përfshijnë përdorimin e shpalljes hyjnore mbinatyrore.

Marcus Terentius Varro (116–27 p.e.s.) vendosi një dallim midis teologjisë politike (funksionet shoqërore të fesë), teologjisë natyrore dhe teologjisë mitike. Terminologjia e tij u bë pjesë e traditës stoike e pastaj edhe e krishterimit përmes Augustin Hipos dhe Thoma Akuinit.
