Amian Marcelini (latinisht: Ammianus Marcellinus, rreth vitit 330 të e.s. në Antioki në Orontes, Siri[1][2] - rreth viteve 395/400 ndoshta në Romë) ka qënë një historian, ushtarak romak, me gjasa me origjinë greke.[3][4] Ai, krahas Prokopit të Çezaresë, është historiani më i rëndësishëm i antikitetit të vonë dhe shkroi në gjuhën latine, megjithëse gjuha amtare e tij ngjan të ketë qëne greqishtja.[5][6] Në shkrimet e tij gjejmë të dhëna edhe për Ilirinë dhe ilirët.[7] Res gestae, vepra e tij është kronikë e historisë së Romës nga ngjitja e perandorit Nerva në vitin 96, deri në vdekjen e Valensit në Betejën e Adrianopojës në vitin 378. Nga vepra vetëm seksionet që mbulojnë periudhën nga viti 353, deri në vitin 378 kanë mbijetuar.[8]
